Making Music Is The 1st Half.

"When we create, our action must be impervious to value judgement. We must create for the sole purpose of creating." I couldn't agree with Ghislain Poirier more. Music as art has inherent value. For modern music, however, context is equally important as the musical artifact itself.

The 2nd Half Is Making It Known.

"You only write about art that's already been made." Clement Greenberg forgot to mention 'and been known'. As a product, the market value of music depends on perceptions, and perception can only be formed about something that is known. Music not communicated is music never heard.
